The
duct work on the right is restricting airflow by at least a third,
if you restrict
the
airflow on a unit, it has just one more cause to not last the full
life expectancy.
The
external insulation will eventually crack, leak and leave a moldy
smell in the
air stream. Both of these problems can cost the
customer more money in the future.
The
duct work on the left and in the back of the picture is fabricated
and installed
by
Josh and Brandon with Quest Metal Solutions. These guys did a
really good job
and
they put there effort and care into it. This duct work is
constructed as double
wall, due to the roof top units are conditioning food
product areas, sealed inside and
out, with 2” liner in between and designed so that water will not
sit on top of the new
duct work and rust, preventing future leakage. We could warranty
this for thirty years,
I
can’t say that for the other installation on the right.
At
Quest Metal Solutions we are Quality driven and in a way that this
kind of
workmanship (on the right) really hits home with us. In our eyes
this is not
workmanship, this is a contractor that doesn’t care about the
customer or
about the work that they are doing. Everyone has flaws, no one is
perfect but
when we install a project even if the customer has asked us to do
it as cheap as
possible, we put our heart and soul into it.
In
the situation above nine times out of ten some
contractors give you a price to do it
correctly but maybe with a smaller profit margin. Then they do the
installation as cheap
as
possible, even if it is incorrect, to put as much money in there
pocket as possible.
At Quest Metal Solutions we believe that is a depraved
way to do business. However
there are alot of contrators
that do outstanding work and if you are not using one on
your next project please give us a call or email us
today,we are always looking
for
good, solid relationships.
